1. A team is a group of individuals who work together to accomplish a common goal, and whose work is mutually dependent.
2. working in teams can improve employee moral and lower the turnover rate of employees.
3. a department or a functional group is a group of employees that are responsible for a specific aspect of company operation, such as sales or accounting.
Segment 2
1. A successful team has purpose, commitment, process, communication, trust andrespect.
2. Every team must have a leader so the team members know whn they have done what they were suppose to do.
3. A team differs from a traditional heirarchy in that each member has an equal voice.
segment 3
1. The first step in the six-step problem solving process is to identify the problem.
2. teams try to generate ideas to a problem by using brainstorming.
3. when the best solution has been chosen it must be implemented.
4. three idea generation methods are brainstorming, fishbone diagram, and flow charting.
5. a flow chart shows the step in process.
6. brainstorming requires that the recorder for the team record every idea the tem comes up with.
7. when brainstorming it is a good idea to piggyback off onto other ones.

segment 4
1.when team members are left out of the decision-making pro cess thier value to the team is diminished.
unanimity occurs when all team members completly agree on a decision.
3. minority rule occurs when not all members completly agree on the decision being made.
4. to start to build a team consensus, the team leader or facilitator should restate the goal.
5. the seond step of building consensus is to narrow the number of possible solution.
